While we were on the jet boat tour, Rory told us that they're having a strange summer weather-wise this year. At this time of year, it's usually 115 degrees, but today it was in the low 90's. And they think it's humid here because there's about 7 percent humidity. Moab usually gets about 8 inches of rain a year, and they've already gotten five so far, well ahead of scheduled. It actually feels better here than at home when it's in the 80's and really humid. It's true what they say about dry heat...
After our expensive breakfast this morning, we decided to grill burgers for dinner. We set up some cherries and strawberries outside to snack on before dinner. But unfortunately, as I was about to get the charcoal started, dark clouds were coming overhead and we could hear the distant rumbles of thunder. And then the rain came. So we hunkered down in the RV for a bit to wait it out. Jeff and the kids watched "Night at the Museum" while I cleaned a bit and looked at the pictures I took today.
After about an hour, the rain had passed and I started the charcoal. I had been nursing a headache from the noise of the boat ride, but the ibuprofen helped. Ruth got up from the movie to tell me that she had a headache too, and thought she was going to throw up. Fun....
She drank some Sprite that Jeff went and got for her, and that helped a bit. She passed on dinner and rested on the couch until she fell asleep. While she was resting, Henry roamed the campground taking pictures of rabbits and birds. He's thinking about becoming a park ranger now.
