One of my colleagues at work took a new job at the Grand Junction airport, so we met him and his wife for dinner tonight. The restaurant is called The Ale House, and Andrew said the original is in Breckenridge, Colorado. They serve lots of beer made in Colorado, including the Breckenridge Brewery.
It was great to see Andrew and meet his wife. They gave us tips for things to see and do around Grand Junction and we caught up on some work stuff as well. He advised us to make use of bug spray with Deet if we go up to the Colorado Monument, and from the welts on his legs, it's clear he means it. Fortunately, we have all kinds of insect repellent in the RV, from the "Family-Friendly" stuff that smells nice but doesn't do anything to 40 percent to 100 percent Deet. I do not mess around when it comes to mosquitoes.
One of the best part of these road trips is meeting up with friends around the country. It's great to see them again, and gives us new people to share stories with.
