Getting Ready

Time to get ready for the trip.  Jeff brought the RV out from its winter hibernation at the storage lot, and now it's happily sitting in the driveway, waiting to hit the road again.  Today after work, we spent some time cleaning it up and going through cabinets to find anything that needed to be tossed.

This trip, we're going to tow a Jeep.  That will give us a vehicle to drive around instead of the RV, which is going open up many more sightseeing opportunities for us (and hopefully, will not lead to stress-ridden blog posts from Jeff on the terrors of towing). To make things easier on the RV engine, we're taking out some unnecessary items to lighten the load.

I took out an extra folding table and a cast iron griddle because we haven't gotten much use out of them in the past, and the griddle is really heavy.  The blender made the cut.  It will be good for smoothies, milkshakes, and especially cocktail hour - you know how Jeff loves his strawberry daquiris.

So now that the RV is all cleaned out, tomorrow we can start loading it up.  And thus begins my effort to avoid overpacking.  The challenge begins...
